Arda Translate for Android: privacy policy
Arda Translate Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how ArdaBot, Inc. handles information for Arda Translate. Arda Translate is designed to help people have live translated conversations while keeping those conversations private.
Summary
No account is required.
We do not sell personal information.
We do not show ads.
We do not use tracking for advertising.
We do not intentionally collect conversation audio or transcript text.
After setup, translation is designed to run on your iPhone or iPad.
Microphone And Speech Recognition
Arda Translate uses the microphone so it can listen to speech during an active conversation session. Speech recognition is designed to run on device when supported by the selected language and device.
The app should not be used for medical, legal, emergency, or safety-critical interpretation.
Translation
Arda Translate uses an on-device translation model. During first setup, the app downloads model files so translation can run locally on your iPhone or iPad. Once the model is installed and loaded, conversation translation is designed to happen on device instead of being sent to an external translation service.
Model Download
The initial model download requires an internet connection and uses ArdaBot's Cloudflare CDN as the primary model host. Hugging Face model hosting may be contacted only as a fallback if the primary model mirror is unavailable. Like any normal network request, the provider may receive technical information such as your IP address, request time, device network details, and User-Agent. Conversation audio and transcript text are not sent as part of the model download.
Local Data
Arda Translate may store the downloaded translation model, language preferences, and app settings on your device. These are used to make the app work and to avoid downloading the model again.
Conversation content is not uploaded by Arda Translate. If future versions add local conversation history, it should remain local unless you explicitly choose to export or share it.
TestFlight Feedback
If you use a TestFlight beta and submit feedback through Apple's TestFlight tools, Apple may process that feedback, screenshots, crash reports, and related diagnostic information under Apple's policies. Please avoid sending private conversation content in beta feedback.
Children
Arda Translate is not directed to children under 13, and ArdaBot, Inc. does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and the published policy.

macOS
Translate conversations and audio on your Mac with Arda Translate. Speech recognition and translation run on your device after setup. Conversation audio and text are not sent to a cloud translation service.
On macOS, optional System Audio input captures sound playing in other apps through ScreenCaptureKit, with your Screen & System Audio Recording permission. The app excludes its own sound to prevent feedback. It does not capture or store screen images. Captured speech and translated text are processed on your Mac and are not uploaded by Arda Translate.
Requires an Apple silicon Mac with macOS 26 or later. Initial setup asks permission to download a large translation model from ArdaBot's CDN; Wi-Fi is recommended. Microphone and speech permissions are needed for voice input. System Audio requires Screen & System Audio Recording permission. Speech and voice availability vary by language and device.
